Northern Realm

Frostbitten to its core, only people that have a deathwish dare to come here. Not even the sun can offer enough warmth during the day to help its inhabitants stay warm. Long time inhabitants certantly make do, but adventurers and travelers are wary to even attempt to explore this land.

Overview

History

Only longer lived inhabitants would remember the Northern Realm just like the lands before the heavy, thick forests and hills: the same four seasons, a warm sun, and cold nights... Life was rather calm and decent. Inhabitants settled down, created their port cities, and ships to begin living life. Some even wandered deeper up north past the thicket of trees and hills to discover large mountains filled with dangerous beasts but also valuable resources and materials.

Ehtycs, the Ice Queen

No one really knows exactly who Ehtycs actually is, few have actually come into contact with her, so at most there are rumours and some stories. Some say she's a lich who came into the realm and grasped it under her reign with undead armies. Others say she's a child of the goddess Zena because she doesn't look like a lich at all, but still has a strong influence over death. They've said Ehtycs just arrived one day with her armies and conquered the mountains and forest in the northern half of the region. Surprisingly, Ehtycs did leave all the port cities alone. Though, a deal was struck (as if they could refuse anyway), whatever Ehtycs asks for: she gets it, and she leaves them alone. If they want something from Ehtycs they must send a fighter up towards Enderbite to duel her, if they win they get a wish, if they lose they get trapped within ice forever; only the next winner of the duel can free the ones trapped in ice.

Explore

Enderbite

A large castle built inside the largest mountain in the Northern Realm. Surrounded by large, obsidian walls it makes it extremely hard to penetrate. Most inhabitants that lives here are undead, no one knows if living inhabitants do actually reside here, in Ehtycs realm.

Ankaramite

A military outpost that Ashm'vale erected in order to fight against Ehtycs's undead reign.
