A childish laughter can be heard from the depths of a room filled with stuffies on top of a canopy bed. An unknown figure stares down, eyes flicker across a board that replicates a familiar map. They slide a figurine of a monster southward, across the ocean, onto a landmass with a grin, "I think you'll serve a better purpose here! This will stop everyone from fighting eachother, right?" said, unsure, but then shrugs, "I should find some heroes this time..." The figure turns around, to go rumage, leaving a tipped over well of ink be; it slowly forms a pool of shadow at the bottom of the map.
Altais II (Altais Beta) was known before as Altais, but was unseemingly tampered with higher powers in an attempt to "reset" the world to fix and tamper with it to its heart's content. Altais II's inhabitants live in an ignorant bliss of what occured and go on with their daily life.
Rules:
This setting originally started off as a typical fantasy project then a lot it got grandfathered into my DND campaign, it exists in both spaces harmoniously, so some terminology will be very DND-esque, some not, etc.
Though because of this, I will always implore people to make characters and play around!
I only ask not to make any large, world changing things (ie: continents, gods, etc) since I am very particular with how they all fit (smaller things like towns, cities, etc especially in some of spots that are left kinda barren are okay).

Ash'm
A godless land filled with abyssal creatures, monstrous beasts, undead, friends, devils, and everything adjacent. Plagued by the Scourge, a curse that keeps Ash'm's lands and the binding line that separates it from the rift always thin and decaying, its inhabitants have created a bastion of defense and holy knights to defend its peoples.
Ein Ayin
Known for their knights, glory, fighting, passion, determination, devotion… Ein Ayin mainly worships Ien and Elios, the gods of Love and Beauty. Love is interpreted as a force that can change the world. A force that can keep people going, and never giving up. If someone loves enough they can overcome anything that is in their way.
The Great Expanse
Some people explore the Great Expanse thinking they'll find some great epiphany or something fatefully good will come to them when they're lost… Or sometimes they just get lost to forever wander. Baked by day, chilled by night. It's dry, barren, and vast. The harsh sunlight beats down on the sandy floor, cracked lands, and crumbling sandstones. The endless, flat horizon of the Great Expanse is often broken up by large gears that look like they almost touch the sky.
Old Rheims
Covered by ink, void, and shadow after a near-calamitous monster (named “The Mountain”) was released from containment. Rheim’s dirty underground, where the previous King conducted experiments on anything from creature, citizen, to knight to create biological weapons backfired. Current citizens have made a bastion southward, hoping they can escape or fight back against shadowy forces.
Fazluna
Kingdom of the Moon and Stars, Astral Observatory. Fazluna is a large tower that extends into the clouds. Despite being so massive, this place is very removed from the world. Not many denizens of other countries know anything about this place, maybe except a rumour or two.
Milu Elch
Milu Elch is a dense jungle filled with wild, bright, varied, and even dangerous fauna and flora. No one has dared to really try to settle in Milu Elch on the account of how mysterious and dangerous the wild life is. Some biologists attempt to roam about and study it, but with much caution. The danger of Milu Elch’s territories could probably be because of the Shapless One and Elkhorn who are powerful primal forces that influence the wilds.
Northern Realm
The frostbitten realm that is always covered by ice and snow.
